Jeff's Trip

So in a little over a week, on April 2nd, Jeff leaves for Niger. We have already started getting him packed. This time around he has to take his breakfasts and lunches so we are getting creative with what to send. I have already made a special trail mix since my sweet husband doesn't like peanuts and bought plastic cups of tuna and fruit. He is gonna be the guinny pig when it comes to how well tuna holds up in 130 + degree weather!

I got my Yellow Fever, Polio and Typhoid vaccinations today and go in on Friday for the rest which are Hep A, Meningitis, and Malaria. The lady at the Immunization Clinic was explaining to me that they inject you with a little bit of Malaria and then give you oral medication to fight it off or "treat it" YUCK! The picture had nasty little bugs magnified and crawling around in in illustrated arm. Creepy! I completely understand that that is what vaccinations are but do they have to show icky little bugs inside an arm.............Really?

The other day we purchased a sports camcorder so that Jeff can upload video updates to our church. We are really excited about that! The camera comes with a helmet cam because it is an extreme sports camcorder. We had to get that level of a camera so that it can withstand the heat of the Sahara Desert! I will upload some of the footage here on the blog once he has sent it!

We also plan on using it when we go to Ethiopia to take video of kids that haven't made it through court yet so that their mommy's and daddy's can see them. We have a video of Mintesinot and I watch the 5 second thing often. Thank you Miss Gina!!!!

Please be praying for Jeff's team. For their health, their safety, and for the people that they encounter have "ears to hear".

You're Welcome! We got a video of our kids right before we left, and I just watched and watched and watched it. Seeing them moving and laughing and in real life somehow makes the whole waiting thing more tolerable!
