Going Public

My blog is going public again so there are no pictures of the boys posted. Once the boys have made it through court and are legally ours I will post their pictures. Praying that we get a court date ASAP and that we make it through court the FIRST time!

THINK OF ME

I really wanted to share this video because it is so thought provoking. Please take a minute to watch it. Thanks

Jeff's Trip

So in a little over a week, on April 2nd, Jeff leaves for Niger. We have already started getting him packed. This time around he has to take his breakfasts and lunches so we are getting creative with what to send. I have already made a special trail mix since my sweet husband doesn't like peanuts and bought plastic cups of tuna and fruit. He is gonna be the guinny pig when it comes to how well tuna holds up in 130 + degree weather!

I got my Yellow Fever, Polio and Typhoid vaccinations today and go in on Friday for the rest which are Hep A, Meningitis, and Malaria. The lady at the Immunization Clinic was explaining to me that they inject you with a little bit of Malaria and then give you oral medication to fight it off or "treat it" YUCK! The picture had nasty little bugs magnified and crawling around in in illustrated arm. Creepy! I completely understand that that is what vaccinations are but do they have to show icky little bugs inside an arm.............Really?

The other day we purchased a sports camcorder so that Jeff can upload video updates to our church. We are really excited about that! The camera comes with a helmet cam because it is an extreme sports camcorder. We had to get that level of a camera so that it can withstand the heat of the Sahara Desert! I will upload some of the footage here on the blog once he has sent it!

We also plan on using it when we go to Ethiopia to take video of kids that haven't made it through court yet so that their mommy's and daddy's can see them. We have a video of Mintesinot and I watch the 5 second thing often. Thank you Miss Gina!!!!

Please be praying for Jeff's team. For their health, their safety, and for the people that they encounter have "ears to hear".

The Girl Can't Help It.................

Ok, I have known about Theo for 5 days now. I can't help myself, I have gone crazy buying clothes for him. I was able to hold off buying anything until we had his referral; then, once we received it, the floodgates opened. I had refrained from shopping for the baby, with the exception of the Treasu(red) outfit. But that doesn't count because it was on sale for $4.99 and I had to buy it or it wouldn't be there by the time I met Theo. Ok, I'll just let the pictures do the talking!

That is my couch, covered in my babies clothes. Five days!!! I have to get a grip on myself or, as my friend Grace said, I am gonna be done for! And this isn't even my first baby or my first boy! Like the title says, I just cant help it!

These are some of my favorite outfits:

Our First Update!!!!

Ok so some of the families from Hope are in Ethiopia right now. I am getting updates from them on our boys. Here are the two posts. I have used two different fonts to separate the messages.

Jaclyn,

Amy and I saw Theo yesterday and he is adorable... he has this cute way of laying on his back with his two little feet flat on the floor...very cute. He looks very happy too! We got some photos so will post those as soon as possible after returning home.

Carrie

jaclyn,

your minte is so sweet. and let me tell you how adorable little theodros is. my dad was smitten with him. i had him belly laughing on the floor when i was tickling him. i will get their picture together on friday. minte too lit up when he got your stuff.

amy

AHHHHH! I am so happy, I cried when I read both of these! My baby is cute and my boy is sweet! Of course they are, no surprise, but to hear someone who has gotten to see them say it makes me feel so happy, proud, joyful, on and on and on! So Minte knows who we are and he knows that Theo is his baby brother. Now he can look out for him and bond with him while they are in the orphanage! Thank you so much Carrie and Amy! You both have made my week!! Thank you God for such a wonderful gift!!!!!!!!!

The Blizzard!!!

This is what our street looks like today. Yesterday it almost hit 70 degrees! What Tha Heck! Really???? Can you say “sick…..again!” Aiden walked out his name in the middle of our street! Now he is watching movies and really loving his snow day. He is convinced that he will be out of school tomorrow; I can’t say that I am not hoping the same so that we can have a day in together! Here are more pictures from this afternoon.
